Reading...

I'm sitting in the library at school...not one of my favorite places to be though because I really do not enjoy reading all that much. But you know what? Sitting here looking at all of these books has reminded me of something that we learned at Student Life Camp this summer. (those of us who WENT and did not stay at home all week like uh-chum...Bethany, Holly Amelia...) haha just kidding. But the speaker at camp taught one night about the story of Jesus when he was twelve years old and he stayed behind in Jerusalem. You know the story...we've all heard it many many times but this speaker hit on something I had never even thought about before. The verse that says Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men.....he said that if Jesus, the God ALmighty in human form, could humble himself enough to find LEARNING important, then we should, too! Jesus GREW in wisdom. He took the time and effort to learn. The speaker asked us, "How many of you would say that you hate school?" I was about to put my hand waaaay up in the air-I figured everyone would-but no one did. I thought about it alot and it really convicted me. Jesus could have totally skipped the learning process, I mean he was God, but he went through it any way. We are to imitate Christ, yes, even in the small things. I should not hate school and I should not hate reading. I want to be like Christ in every aspect of my life. I think so many times we say to ourselves, "Okay, today I have to make sure that I am like Christ. That means I can't do anything that He would not do." But do you know what? Our mindset should be different. Not only should we not do anything that Jesus would not do, but we should also DO everything that he WOULD do! Wow...that is alot different isn't it? So let's try and remember to be in the mindset of Christ at all times. Let's imitate him in all areas of our lives...even the small ones.

this is a good picture. I would have definitely raised my hand with the "Do you hate school" comment. Actually I like the learning, but I hate the work. (to bad these two go hand in hand) oops, I guess this is where Colossians 3:23 comes in to play.
    keep postin girl...
